Antique Horsehair Sleigh
Blanket - $60.00 Shipped
Old horse hide blanket for
a sleigh blanket or lap blanket. It is marked Cownie Tanning Company Des
Moines, Iowa. I found out that this company was in business from around
the turn of the century until the Depression. I understand you could send
them your fur, hide, skin, whatever and they custom made items to your
specifications. This blanket is a horse hide on one side and is green wool
on the other. There is a tear in the hide at one lower corner, but not
bad at all for it's age. Measures about 88 across the diagonal, about 62
long and 54 wide. Awesome piece |
